Comments:  I found this site looking on the Internet. I haven't met my great grandma Mama Terrell yet because we live so far. My mom says that me and my brothers will go visit her in the summertime. I want to see my grandpa again really soon. I didn't know my last name had so much meaning. I saw my greatgrandma Ruth on this site for the first time and she is pretty.

Comments about the web site: The web site is great and very informative, however, my purpose is to thank the Terrell family for choosing me to be the speaker for Sunday morning worship and for the largess gift you gave to the Metropolitan Ministries. As I tried to communicate in my Sunday morning lesson; if there is a problem in the black community, and there is, there is a problem in the black family.

The Terrell Family is a family that I have experienced and watched for years that has dared to be a family indeed. You have been a family that stuck together through thick and thin. You have been family that held up the concept of family as something sacred and it shows. Love, acceptance, community, support, encouragement, commitment to one another are all characteristics that the Terrell family cherish dearly.

I feel both privileged and thankful that I have been chosen by God through his divine providence to be associated with such a paragonian family. Superlative, an apotheosis, superb and splendid are just a few adjectives that still come short of what I have witnessed in the Terrell Family. The Terrell family stands truly as a beacon to the black community of an Ideal that we have lost. Someone in the family with prodigious perspicacity should write a book about the Terrell family and publish it. Indeed if there is going to be any hope for the survival of the black family and therefore community in America, it will come through families like the Terrells. Some one has said, "just as it takes more than the purchase of a piano to become a musician, it takes more than a beautiful house or blood relation to become family indeed."

Thank God for you Terrells, thank God for how your example and love for one another has already did much to ameliorate the black community and black family. You all just continue to submit and listen to the elder states men and women of your clan as you silently make a tremendous difference in the lives of people around you by example.

  Once again, we wish to exceedingly thank the Terrell family for their prodigious munificence demonstrated in the monetary gift to the Metropolitan Church of Christ and it's ministries.

Comments about the web site: To my Chicago Family, My hat is off to all of you. Ann you and your team of workers did a fantastic job. I am still showing off my pictures from the reunion and I am so happy that they all came out so well. I enjoyed myself from the time I got to the hotel to the time we got on our flight to leave. For me I wasn't there long enough. If I had to pick an event that was most enjoyable for me, I would have to say the picnic. The place was wonderful and offered lots of things to do and we couldn't have asked or prayed for better weather. I enjoyed seeing all my family those who I met in Birmingham and the new family I've never met before. You guys really out did yourselves and I'm so excited already about the summer of 2005. Our family is so blessed to want to keep this tradition going because so many other families do not know where or who they came from and this is a true blessing that we the "TERRELL's" have.

Comments about the web site: I just picked up my pictures from the Family Reunion and they reminded me of the great time we had.  I got some really good shots.  I thought I should take this opportunity to write to Ann and the families in the Chicago area and tell them what a wonderful job they did.  Every detail was well planned and executed.  I am sure it was a lot of hard work even if it was a labor of love.  My son's Eric and Tony had a good time and loved their little excursions to downtown Chicago.  My grandson, Eric enjoyed meeting cousins he didn't know.  He spent most of his time in the pool with them.  Even the baby Kayla enjoyed herself thanks to Brittany who took such good care of her.  Ann, I can't say enough how much we appreciate what you did.  Faye, the same goes for you for the hours you spent in the archives researching the family.

As you know, the 2005 reunion will be in San Francisco.  We are looking forward to hosting everyone.  Remember, San Francisco is expensive so start setting money aside now.  Mel and I will have our first planning meeting with the local families in the next couple of months.  Ann, I am sure we will be calling on you for advice.  And you all will be hearing a lot from us in the next couple of years.

Comments about the web site: I would first like to say that I'm very impressed with the web site.  It is truly fantastic!  Secondly, I attended the family reunion in Guin, it was a very strange and interesting situation.  I reminisced with a few people that I remembered from my childhood.  People that I've always been told were my relatives.  My father grew up with Samuel Terrell of Colorado and he was told that they were relatives.  But yet at the reunion I felt like an outsider, a reunion crasher because we were being told that there was no blood connection with my family.  In spite of the uneasiness that I felt it was a good reunion.  I was told recently that research on the Terrell family is ongoing and that my grandfather was the great-grand son of Samuel Terrell.  I don't know exactly where that puts us in the family but there is a connection there.  After reading the information about Angeline I felt a kinship to every Terrell that I have run across recently.  There are quite a few Terrells in Georgia and as a matter of fact I work with one.  In closing I'd like to say I am looking forward to the Chicago family reunion and learning more about from 'whence we cometh.'  Home phone 404-349-4362.

How I found your page: In 1967/69 I dated the youngest daughter of Luther Terrell. Although we have traveled different paths we have stayed in contact with one another over the years. It was Mary who informed me of the upcoming Terrell Family reunion in Birmingham, and family website.
Comments about the web site: The Terrell family reunion in Birmingham was organized to give honor to Thomas & Angeline Terrell. It will also facilitate the national gathering and introduction of related Terrell families throughout the U.S. Realizing the number of branches of the Terrell Family Tree that will be represented in Alabama caused me to recall a script from the movie La Amistad .... it states that:

The natural state of mankind is freedom
And the proof is the length to which any man, woman, or child will go to regain it once taken.
He will brake loose his chains
